Otters have managed to sign Marton Toth as their other foreigner for Summer 2023.
After capturing the signature of veteran Croatian/Georgian dynamo Marko Jelaca the squad has been further strengthened by the acquisition of Hungarian sharpshooter Marton Toth. Marton began his professional career in 2004. He played for seven different teams, won the Hungarian League six times during his career (3 with Vasas, 2 with Honved, and 1 with Szolnok) and won the Hungarian Cup on three occasions (with Honved, Szeged and Honved). He won a gold medal in the LEN Trophy with Ferencvaros, and in 2005 was a runner up in the Champions League with Honved. He played for the Hungarian National Team around 50 times. In 2013 he won the gold medal in the Universiade and in 2014, he won the silver medal in the European Championship and the World League.
Marton is married and has a son. He has a Masters Degree in Economics and a Waterpolo Coaching License.
At the moment he plays for OSC and is the team captain.
It is important to mention that ‘a very young’ Marton Toth had already played for Otters in 2006, so it’s going to be a most welcome return for Marton to Marsalforn!
